Returning Student (away for 2 or more semesters)
- Step #1 Apply for VA Benefit
- Step #2 Apply to CCSF
- Set up student Gmail (@mail.ccsf.edu) Account and myRam Portal Account
- Step #3 Attend New Student Veteran Orientation (Online) (Please screenshot the Certificate of Completion for your own record.)
- Step #4 Fill out the Student Veteran Intake
- Step #5 Click here to submit documents: DD214, Certificate of Eligibility (COE), Unofficial* and JST Transcripts (if applicable).
- * In addition to your unofficial transcripts, please send official transcripts to Admission and Record Transcript Department and request Domestic Transcript Evaluation
- Step #6 Complete the Online Assessment Form to get Math and English Placement. This is not an actual test. You will self-report your highest level of Math and English completed in high school or college.
- Step #7 Declare major that you will be studying at CCSF in your RAM Portal before seeing a counselor.
- Step #8 Develop an Education Plan with a Veterans Academic Counselor
- Step #9 Register for Classes (Class Schedule, Registration Guide - PDF, Video)
- Step #10 Submit Certification Request Form (EVERY Semester)
** Post-9/11 GI Bill® students attending IHL facilities who receive Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) and/or kicker payments are required to verify enrollment at the end of each month
** Not using VA education benefit but would like to get Priority Registration date, please complete steps 2,3,5,8 and provide DD214.

- Step #3 Submit Certification Request Form (EVERY Semester)

San Francisco VA Student Veteran Health Program (SVHP)
Need assistance enrolling in VA Health Care? We encourage you to contact Bridget Leach and Dennis Moore, our two SF VA Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) who are housed out of our VETS Office. This SF VA and CCSF VETS Office collaboration was established in 2010.
