About Spring 2021
In-Person, Remote, and Online Classes
Most Spring 2021 classes will be taught remotely in Canvas, and most student services will be delivered online and remotely. Certain courses may be held in-person following strict safety protocols.
To find out the status of a particular class, look at the Remote, Online or Campus column of the online schedule.
- Classes that say Remote will be taught remotely in Canvas. Instructors may use the scheduled class days and times for Zoom lectures and to complete exams. For scheduling purposes, if you register for a remote section, please plan to be available at the days and times listed in the schedule. Before the first day of class, your teacher may contact you with the days and times you will need to be available. If you do not hear from your instructor, please email the instructor. Go to ccsf.edu and in Search, type the name of the instructor to find instructor contact information.
- Classes that say Online are standard online classes, and will be taught through Canvas for the whole semester. Some classes listed online may have a synchronous meeting-that day and time will be noted in the schedule. Instructors teaching online have a website available with more information about the class. Check the instructor’s website for details.
- Classes that have a Campus listed (e.g., Ocean, John Adams) are planned to be offered in-person. Allied Health programs with a cohort, may use a combination of Canvas and in-person as permitted by the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
Time Conflicts: As you plan your Spring 2021 schedule, please do everything you can to give yourself a schedule without time conflicts. Do not expect the instructor to accommodate time conflicts.

Your Safety and Education are our Priorities
Whether your classes are in-person or online, your education doesn’t need to wait. We are committed to continue to provide all of our students with a quality education.
The Spring 2021 schedule contains in-person, remote, and online classes; however, with the COVID-19 situation, we may need to make changes that may shift in-person classes to include temporary remote instruction.
In-person instruction will be in steps – some classes will resume in-person instruction while others remain remote, and the actual in-person instruction may look different than what we’re used to.
We are working with local public health officials to monitor the public health situation carefully and are preparing for different possibilities.
We will publish updates frequently as the situation develops.
We stand ready to support you, and we’ll get through this together.
