City College of San Francisco Celebrates 2026 Graduates Through Cultural and Community Commencements
San Francisco, CA (May 19, 2026) – City College of San Francisco (CCSF) is proud to recognize and honor the achievements, resilience, and hard work of the Class of 2026. CCSF’s official Commencement Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:30 AM at George M. Rush Stadium on the Ocean Campus.
CCSF has hosted a series of cultural and community-centered graduation celebrations taking place throughout May. These intimate ceremonies highlight the academic success and personal journeys of students across CCSF’s multiple, diverse learning communities and programs.
CCSF serves a diverse student population annually, offering pathways to degrees, university transfer, career education, and lifelong learning. This year’s recognition ceremonies include Umoja Rite of Passage, Puente, Lavender Graduation, Fil Grad, City DREAM, Metro Transfer Celebration, and Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS). Each recognition ceremony highlights the College’s dedication to uplifting and supporting every student through culturally responsive programs, committed staff, and student-centered services that encourage belonging, achievement, and opportunity.
“At City College of San Francisco, commencement is more than a ceremony; it is a celebration of perseverance, identity, community, and the transformative power of education,” said Dr. Kimberlee S. Messina, Chancellor of CCSF. “These cultural and community-centered celebrations honor the unique paths of our students and reflect the inclusive spirit that defines CCSF. We are proud to recognize every graduate and the communities that supported them along the way.”

Student Speaker: Jonathan Alejandro Villeda. A first generation college student, Villeda’s academic journey reflects his dedication to addressing health disparities, particularly within immigrant & underserved communities.
Alumni of the Year: Michelle Monterrosa. A proud graduate of CCSF, Monterrosa has emerged as a leading voice in the movement for police accountability and community-centered public safety.
