Drop by and see the new student resource center. Our mission is to provide support; to help meet the basic needs of students on campus, and facilitate stronger relationships with African American Studies faculty and staff.

Mission

Our mission is to provide support; to help meet the basic needs of students on campus, and facilitate stronger relationships with African-American Studies faculty and staff.


Services & Resources Provided

African-American Studies Book Loan Program / Research Library

Books for ALL African American Studies courses will be available for student use. A limited amount of books will be available for semester loan; the remainder will be available for in-house use, 2-hour campus use, and 24-hour overnight use.  A reference library for research purposes will also be available for students.
 

Food / Snacks / Water

Light snacks, food, and water will always be available to students on a first come first serve basis.
 

Tutoring Services

Professional and student tutors in English, Math, and History (and various subjects) will be available via drop-in and by appointment.
 

Printing & Computers

Two computers will be available for student’s use as well as a printer. Our center is situated on the same floor as a large student computer lab and a copy machine. We hope that students will make use of all the services. Printing will be limited to 10 pages per student.
