CCSF LVN Admission Requirements

• Attend one (1) mandatory program orientation.

• Submit an official transcript from a U.S.-accredited high school showing completion of the 12th grade, a GED, a U.S. high school equivalency, or proof of an Associate or Bachelor degree.
  • Official transcripts should only be submitted after you have been instructed to do so during the admissions process.
• English, one course from below with a minimum C grade:
  • ENGL C1000 or ENGL 1A or equivalent
  • or CCN: ENGL C1000
  • or C-ID: ENGL 100
  • AP: min. 3 score in English Language & Comp. or English Literature & Language Comp.
• Mathematics, one course from below with a minimum C grade:
  • Below are math classes that complete CCSF Local Degree GE Area 2 Mathematical Concepts & Quantitative Reasoning:
  • ECON 5; ET 50; LALS 5; Math 60, 65, 70, 75, 90, 98, 100A, 100B, 101, 108, 110A, 110B, 110C, 115, 120, 125, 130, PHIL 12A; PSYC 5; STAT C1000
• Earn an overall 2.5 GPA in the required science courses.
• Complete the following prerequisite courses with a minimum C grade within five (5) years before beginning the CCSF LVN Program. However, a minimum 2.5 GPA in the required Anatomy & Physiology and Nutrition:
  • BIO 106 Anatomy & Physiology (no C-ID available) or equivalent
  • or both BIO 108 Anatomy and BIO 112 Human Physiology
    • BIO 108 Anatomy (C-ID BIOL 110B)
    • BIO 112 Physiology (C-ID BIOL 110B)
      • Note: BIO 112 has a CHEM 32 or 101A prerequisite
    • or equivalent
  • BIO 134 Nutrition (C-ID NUTR 110)
  • Complete one: CDEV 53, CDEV 67, or PSYC 21
• Hold an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Complete a physical examination and provide proof of required immunizations and immunity for specified communicable diseases within one year of enrollment.

Transcript Submission Notice

Meet with a CCSF Academic Counselor to help you submit course equivalency requests for courses taken outside of CCSF.

Do NOT send official transcripts to [email protected].

Acceptance

ACCEPTANCE into the program is through the lottery system. Please do not proceed with any Physical or Immunization paperwork until you have been accepted into the program and you have attended a New LVN Student Onboarding meeting.

Upon acceptance into the program:

• If you're a new or Re-Admit CCSF Student, complete the College Admission Procedures.
• A physical examination and proof of immunity for specified communicable diseases. See report (do not do this until instructed to do so by the Department Chairperson)
• Current CPR card - Basic Life Support (BLS for Provider) for adult, children, infants.  (do not do this until instructed to do so by the Department Chairperson)
• Uniform from designated vendor.   (do not do this until instructed to do so by the Department Chairperson)
• Background check and drug testing.  (do not do this until instructed to do so by the Department Chairperson)
• MANDATORY New Student Onboarding Orientation.

Costs are subject to change without prior notice.

• $46 per semester unit for California resident
• $409 per semester for nonresidents + $7 per unit for capital outlay fee + $46 per unit for enrollment fee
• $20 for Student Health fee for ALL students; Summer Semester $16. (Mandatory)
