City College of San Francisco is developing its next Education Strategic Plan (ESP) to guide the College's educational priorities for the years ahead. Whether you know CCSF well, have had limited experience with the College, or simply have a perspective on what San Francisco needs from its community college, we want to hear from you. Your input will help us understand CCSF's strengths, identify opportunities for the future, consider what the College should aspire to become, and shape how we understand what success means for our students and communities. The planning process begins with evidence and input—not predetermined answers. ESP Input Form

Purpose

The Education Strategic Plan (ESP) Workgroup provides strategic guidance throughout the development of the College's Education Strategic Plan. Using an inclusive, evidence-informed planning process, the workgroup contributes its expertise and perspectives at each stage of ESP development. Stages include reviewing environmental analyses pertaining to San Francisco and beyond, synthesized institutional data about CCSF, and stakeholder input summaries. Workgroup deliverables include drafting and recommending long-term Strategic Priorities to serve as the central component of the ESP. The workgroup will also review and recommend companion components of the plan to contextualize the recommended Strategic Priorities and to provide a framework for integration and implementation. The ESP must focus on (1) improving student success, advancing equity, strengthening program viability with grounding in the principles of guided pathways, and (2) supporting long-term fiscal and facilities sustainability. Formal adoption of the Strategic Priorities, along with adoption of the ESP itself, will provide the foundation for the subsequent Facilities Master Plan and other integrated institutional planning efforts.

 Responsibilities 

• Provide strategic guidance throughout development of the Education Strategic Plan. 
• Contribute members' expertise, perspectives, and judgment to the planning process. 
• Review and deliberate on consultant-prepared syntheses of key planning features including stakeholder engagement, institutional data, environmental scans, emerging themes, best practices, and strengths and gaps in existing College plans and planning documents. ¹ 
• Identify planning opportunities, challenges, and strategic priorities based on evidence and deliberation. 
• Review and provide feedback on draft plan components and recommend revisions, as appropriate. 
• Consider facilities, space, technology, fiscal, and operational implications of proposed strategic priorities to support integrated institutional planning. 
• Serve as a communication link between the planning process and constituent groups by sharing information and encouraging broad participation throughout the planning process. 
• Recommend draft Strategic Priorities and a draft Education Strategic Plan through the College's shared governance processes.
