Thank you for your interest in the Dental Assisting Program.
Enrollment is open to all interested individuals who have completed the appropriate requirements.
If you are interested in applying for the Fall 2027 cohort but do not meet the prerequisites, please contact the department chair at [email protected] for assistance.
You must first apply to City College of San Francisco to be eligible to apply to the Dental Assisting Program.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma, GED, post-secondary degree, or equivalent.
Applicants are required to complete the following courses with a C or higher prior to applying to the Dental Assisting Program:
* Students who have a Bachelor's degree (BS or BA), are waived from the English, Science, and typing requirements. Please provide proof of degree with your application.
Bachelor's degrees earned in English speaking countries/universities other than the US will be considered based on transcripts. Please submit an English copy of your transcripts for review.
Students who do not have college experience or have not attended school for more than 2 years or students who have a C average:
LERN 50 is highly recommended to strengthen study strategies, test taking skills and note taking skills.
Students may apply while you are concurrently enrolled in the prerequisite courses. Please indicate this in the application. Students may be conditionally accepted to the program, pending verification of your final grade. All courses must be completed PRIOR to the Fall semester.

An acceptance letter will be sent out via email late March/early April. The acceptance letter will be sent to the email you provided on the Dental Assisting application.
You are welcome to attend an optional orientation towards the end of the Spring semester.
