Call for Proposals NOW OPEN for 2026-27 All-College Flex Days!
We encourage you to consider submitting a Flex Workshop Proposal for 2026-2027 All-College Flex Days. (Plus, earn double Flex credit for presenting a workshop on an All-College Flex Day!)
FLEX is a unique professional development opportunity where the entire College can come together as a community to learn, connect, and collaborate. Our goal with identifying an All-College Flex Day theme and strands is to provide focus while allowing for variety, creativity, and inclusivity.
2026-2027 Theme & Strands
The Curb Cut Effect: Access for All
Inspired by the curb cut effect, this year’s theme invites CCSF to explore how thoughtful design, inclusive practices, and collaborative innovation can spark positive ripple effects throughout the college. When we design courses, services, and institutional processes with accessibility, clarity, and inclusion in mind, we create conditions that support the success of all students and employees. >We are seeking interactive workshops, panels, and presentations that reflect meaningful collaboration across teams and align with at least one of the following strands:
- Institutionalize Equity
- Improve Communication
- Strengthen Community, Education, and Industry Partnerships
- Improve the Student Experience
Please read the full descriptions for the theme and strands here, with workshop examples to inspire your proposal.
Submit your workshop proposal by Friday, May 1, 2026, as the link will officially close for PDC consideration.

Collaboration in Action: Working Together for Student Success

Strands
Collaboration is crucial to making things happen, and it begins at our college. Strong internal partnerships across departments—such as Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, ITS, Human Resources, Finance, Labor Unions, constituency groups—are essential for cohesive student support and equitable outcomes. When we work together across roles, we can better align curriculum with workforce needs, ensure access to transfer pathways, and connect students with critical resources.
At the same time, external collaboration is vital. Expanding partnerships with community organizations, K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and industry leaders allows CCSF to serve as a hub for opportunity, equity, and social mobility. Together, internal and external collaboration help break down barriers and build more inclusive pathways for all students.
We will focus on workshops that foster cross-functional collaboration, deepen community partnerships, and advance equitable student outcomes.
Three Flex strands were identified to support these efforts, which is important for the success of the College in meeting the needs of our students by assisting in further enhancing student achievement and providing additional innovation opportunities for all. They are goals of CCSF’s Education Master Plan (EMP), which serves as the College’s long-range strategic blueprint for all institutional planning and program development from 2018-2025.
INSTITUTIONALIZE EQUITY (IE): Institutionalizing equity requires intentional adoption of evidence-based, equity advancing policies and practices to provide support and resources to disproportionately impacted student and employee groups. Please reference the equity definitions here.
IMPROVE OPERATIONS OF THE COLLEGE (IOC): By sharing knowledge of our internal processes, policies, and services, and training our employees, we fulfill our commitments by displaying accountability and responsibility and creating positive experiences for all our students and colleagues. Therefore, keeping colleagues and students up to date on operational changes that may impact employee and student success.
Strengthen Community, Education and Industry partnerships (SCEIP): This strand focuses on how CCSF builds and sustains meaningful connections beyond the campus to support student success. Whether through transferring, dual enrollment, workforce pipelines, or community-based initiatives, these partnerships expand learning opportunities and career pathways for students.
