Become a Registered Nurse

Prepare to pass the NCLEX-RN exam and enter the workforce as a registered nurse.

During the RN program, you will take a series of courses that combine academic classes on campus, skills practice in the nursing skills laboratory, and patient care experience in various hospitals and facilities in the San Francisco area. Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive an Associate Degree in Nursing and be entitled to take the California State Board of Registered Nursing licensing exam.

RN Application Cycle

The application filing period for the RN program happens once a year. The 2024 applications are accepted from Friday, January 26, 2024 through Monday, February 26, 2024 for the following Fall and Spring Semesters.

Test of Essential Academic Skills - TEAS 7

CCSF nursing is requiring the TEAS 7 but will accept the TEAS 6 if taken in the past.

COVID-19 CURRENT INFORMATION- Remote, Online, or Campus Science Courses.

The CCSF Nursing Program will temporarily accept remote, online, or campus science prerequisite courses with lab: Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology. The temporary change will ONLY be applied to the semester of Spring 2020, Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Summer, 2021, Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022.
ADN-BSN SFSU Program Requirements
01/03/24
CHEM 32 Intro to Medical Chemistry or equivalent and Statistics MATH 80 Probability and Statistics or equivalent are required prerequisite for the concurrent Registered Nursing ADN-BSN SFSU Program with City College of San Francisco.
