This course offers an overview of visual communication fields and the programs of study in the Visual Media Design Department. The class introduces students to professional practice in fields such as graphic design, illustration, imaging, publication design and web front end development. Students will identify potential career options, explore the necessary skills to succeed in these fields, and outline a future program of study.
This class is part of CityOnline and has a shorter semester (8 Weeks). VMD 100 requires one live online meeting and the use of Canvas. The required live online meeting will be a 20-minute Zoom meeting with an instructor (at a time of your choice) and requires the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet-enabled device.
