As a member of the Honors Transfer Council of California (HTCC), CCSF honors students may become part of California State University Honors Programs

These partnerships do not influence CSU admission decisions. 
They come into effect only if a student is accepted by the university.
CSUs have obligations to their local communities, and the HTCC honors that important part of the CSU mission.

Students must complete applications for both the university and the honors program, and they may have to apply for the program before they know whether they're admitted to the university.​

We strongly urge students to visit https://www.calstate.edu/attend/impaction-at-the-csu to learn about how local preference and impaction work. This site shows local service areas, impacted majors across the system, and campuses that are impacted for all majors.

Many UCs (for example, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, UC Merced and UC Irvine) have Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) programs.  To take advantage of our Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) Programs you will want to check out the Transfer Center.

Earning honors credits strengthens your resume when you apply to various general scholarships.

Please note that UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD do not have any TAG agreements. See below for more information.

UC Berkeley will consider honors participation as a factor in the admissions process, but there is no extra form to fill out.

You may want to discuss your participation in honors courses in your application. If you present your research during an honors symposium, you would want to include that in your application.

Per UCLA Transfer Alliance Program (TAP):

"Effective May 2026, one-year transfer students will not be eligible for TAP certification. A one-year transfer is defined by time—attends a community college or four-year institution for one year after high school graduation—not based on units earned.
For students who will enrollment at UCLA in Fall 2027, the following applies: by the end of Spring 2027, the student must have been a college student for a minimum of two years, following high school completion."

The UCLA TAP program will enhance your application and give you priority admission consideration (not “guaranteed admission”) to majors in the College if you complete the following:

• Apply to UCLA for one of the majors offered by The College of Letters and Science, as well as the following majors: Public Health, Public Affairs, and Education and Social Transformation.
• All UC admissions and UCLA major requirements
• 15 UC transferable honors program units
• Honors Certification

UCLA TAP will also allow you to apply for a non-impacted alternate major (should you not get into the major that is your first choice). Finally, it will allow you to qualify to apply for a UCLA TAP scholarship. For more information please visit UCLA’s TAP webpage.

Your TAP Certification Form is due in February of the spring semester immediately preceding the fall you intend to start at UCLA. 

Process

1. Be sure to have completed at least 9 transferable honors program units in or before the Fall before you plan to transfer (the remaining 6 units can be completed in the Spring before you transfer if need be)
2. Apply to UCLA through the normal means by the regular Fall deadline for admission (usually the end of November)
3. Complete this CCSF Honors Program UCLA TAP Application Form by the beginning of February and be sure to attach your unofficial college transcripts.
4. Watch your CCSF Email for a link to the UCLA TAP Worksheet you will need to complete in Adobe Sign. Please complete and sign the form by the deadline.
5. A CCSF counselor will verify that you have or will complete 15 honors units and calculate your CCSF UC Transferable GPA (min. 3.00 transferable GPA required)
6. Students will receive an email confirmation once their TAP certification is submitted to UCLA.
