Infant/Toddler Growth & Dev.

Physical/sensory-motor, social-emotional, and cognitive/language development of the prenatal period throughout the first three years will be studied with an emphasis on interactions between genetic and environmental factors. Brain development research and major developmental theories are the guiding principles for practice. Caring adults as a foundation for all development will be emphasized.

Child Growth and Development

Examines the progression of development in the physical, cognitive, social/emotional domains and identifies developmental milestones for children from conception through adolescence. Emphasis on interactions between biological processes and environmental factors. Students will observe children, evaluate individual differences, and analyze characteristics of development at various stages according to developmental theories.

Video Motion Graphics - Intro

Introduces students to core processes involved in conceptualizing and executing digital effects, compositing techniques, and motion graphics sequences for various media and devices. Concepts and skills are introduced, practiced, and integrated into projects in a hands-on classroom/laboratory setting. Topics include layering, keyframing, compositing, manipulating effects, and technical and creative considerations.

Edit & Color DaVinci Resolve

Edit & Color DaVinci Resolve builds on skills gained from introductory video editing classes. The focus is on transferring editing techniques to the industry-standard software for color correction and grading techniques common in professional post-production. Students create projects aligned with professional video formats, color correction, and grading for short-form storytelling and portfolio development.

AS AM & AM Ideals Institutions

An Ethnic Studies introduction to Asian Pacific American groups in the United States and their long term experience with basic governmental ideals and institutions, at the national, state and local levels. Examine the impact of Asians, Asian American agency, group-affirmation, struggle, and resistance on legal-constitutional America and the countervailing impact of race and racism and political-legal structures imposed on different groups of Asians by U.S., California, and local governments.

Lat Amer Cultures & Societies

Comprehensive and critical analysis of the cultures and traditions of the peoples in Latin America. Critical in-depth study of contemporary society and political systems, inter-ethnic relations, traditional medicinal healing, religions, and sorcery. Analysis of the history and development of Latin American cultures and the impact of state forms of social organization on its traditional societies.
