Discover Your Voice Through Artistic Expression
The CCSF Creative Writing certificate offers an interdisciplinary approach to creative expression and provides excellent preparation for a job in the publishing industry or a degree in creative writing.
The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it.
— Dylan Thomas
As a creative writing student, you'll have the opportunity to help produce Forum, a student-run literary journal that serves the CCSF community. Twice a year (Fall and Spring Semester), Forum collects, edits and publishes quality works of literature and the visual arts as produced by the CCSF family.
Lit Night is a literary salon held at Ocean Ale House. CCSF writers have the opportunity to bring their writing and share their work with our community.
Each semester we host a series of public events where creative writers share their craft. Past visiting writers include:
- Alejandro Murguia
- Brenda Hillman
- DA Powell
- Maceo Montoya
- Mary Szybist
