In-depth study of American Indian cultures and the impact of state and federal policies and laws pertaining to tribal sovereignty and self-governance. Covers the effects of and resistance to colonization and cultural appropriation upon American Indian cultures and religions. Students gain a practical understanding of the cultural, political and legal challenges faced by American Indian tribal nations in our own region and across the country.

Support for students who are concurrently enrolled in MATH 101, Beginning Calculus. Topics include concepts and skills from precalculus that are needed to understand the basics of Beginning Calculus. Concepts are taught in the context of the linked Math 101 course.

Second semester course: Extensive oral practice of basic structures, cultural aspects, and vocabulary most often used in conversation. Designed for students who wish to acquire basic-intermediate skills of spoken Italian.

Second course of the intermediate-level sequence. Review of grammar and composition; reading of cultural and literary materials. Constant practice in the use and comprehension of the spoken language. Conducted in Italian.

This class offers an introduction to the roles and core competencies of Community Health Workers (CHW) and assesses students' readiness for the Community Health Worker Certificate Program. Students will learn key public health concepts, models for providing person-centered services, and explore the professional roles that CHWs play in health and social services.
