The program prepares students to work as registered nurses. Upon
completion, the graduate will receive an Associate Degree in Nursing.
The graduate is entitled to take the California State Board of Registered
Nursing licensing exam.
The program offers a series of courses that combine academic classes on campus, skills practice in the nursing skills laboratory, and patient care experience in various hospitals and facilities in the San Francisco area. Click here for a description of the courses required.
- CHEM 32 Intro to Medical Chemistry or equivalent (completed within the last seven years) is a required prerequisite for the Nursing ADN-BSN SFSU Program with City College of San Francisco (8/26/2019)
- In the future, Application filing period will be once a year. see Announcement
- Beginning January 20 - February 20, 2020 annual nursing application, the TEAS score result is required with the nursing application (an overall composite score of 62% passing on ATI TEAS first attempt, TEAS version VI)
The purpose of City College of San Francisco Registered Nursing Program is to recruit, counsel and prepare qualified people in the San Francisco Bay Area to function effectively at an entry level registered nursing position.
