Catalog Description

This course offers an examination of the history of alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. From a public health perspective, students will analyze drug policies and their impact on the health of culturally diverse, marginalized, and low income communities. Students will also develop skills to advocate for policy change.

Section Notes

HLTH 30 - Sec 961 is part of the ARC Program. This section will be cohort restricted to the ARC Program for the first month of registration. The cohort restriction will be lifted for public enrollment after the first month of registration. This section requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on select Wednesdays: 2/28, 3/13, 3/27, 4/17, 5/8, 5/22 from 4:10pm – 8:25pm at Ocean Campus. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of CityOnline and is 12 weeks.
