Screenshot Main Screen for course proposal

The screen above shows the fields that you will enter on the Main tab.

  • Base course: this is the course upon which this distance education addenda is built. For example: for an online OCAN 1 course, the base course is OCAN 1. The DEA would be OCAN 1-DE1.

  • Prefix: right now this field is in the wrong place. It should go above Base Course and filter Base Course. But for purposes of the current proposal, just be sure it matches the prefix of the base course.

  • Course number: BE SURE YOU FOLLOW THE CURRENT STANDARD: use exactly the same number as the existing non-distance-education course, but attaching the following suffix: "-DE1", "-DE2", "-DE3" as appropriate. If you have only one Distance Education Addendum associated with a course, you should add just the suffix "-DE1". Examples:
    • "1-DE1" for Ocan 1-DE1
    • "1-DE2" for Ocan 1-DE2
    • "1L-DE1" for Geog 1L-DE1
  • Distance Ed Justification: Use this section to give brief (1-2 paragraph) description of how the content of this course is conducive to the proposed method of distance education. Be sure to speak directly to the course content, and how the course’s sudent learning outcomes can be achieved and/or enhanced in a distance education mode. (For more examples, see the Distance Education Justification section of the Curriculum Handbook and review PDF Removed.)

  • Please be sure you are using Inherited Font and Inherited Size for all text.
