From Spotlight to Stagecraft, Build Your Theatre Future at CCSF 

Founded in 1947, the CCSF Theatre Arts Department offers an engaging, hands-on program ranging from performance skills, technical theatre, and survey classes. We offer credits that transfer to UC and CSU as well as an AA-T and Certificates of Achievement.

Are you preparing for a professional theatre arts career or wanting to learn how the stage works to put on a production? Or would you like to gain confidence and presentation skills? Perhaps you just want to have fun and express yourself. Wherever you are, CCSF Theatre Arts has a place for you.

Start with an introductory class to explore or pursue your passion further with an AA-T in Theatre Arts to transfer or a Certificate of Accomplishment in Acting. Perform with us at various historic and prestigious Bay Area performance venues, such as the Taube Atrium Theater and Z Space.

You will train with a dedicated faculty who are active in professional theatre and media in SF and beyond the Bay. How far will you go with us? All levels of experience are welcome!

OUR LEGACY

Famous CCSF Theatre Arts alumni actors include Michael Gene Sullivan, Danny Glover, Velina Brown, Bill Bixby, and Barbara Eden. They began their artistic journey right here at CCSF. 

Many of our recent graduates are also building careers in the Bay Area theatres, film, and voice work, both locally and beyond, such as A.C.T., Shotgun Players, Magic Theatre, SF Opera, La Jolla Playhouse, etc. Our students have also successfully transferred to upper-division university programs, including UCSD, UCSB, NYU, etc. Why not you?
