Welcome to the Southeast Center!

Formerly known as The Southeast Campus, the Southeast Center was established in 1986 as an outgrowth of the San Francisco Community College District’s former Skills Center, which primarily offered vocational training classes.

Moreover, through much community advocacy, the Center was established as a promise to the residents of Southeast Neighborhoods to provide an educational facility as an off-set to the use of the neighborhood to house industries less welcomed in other San Francisco neighborhoods (Wastewater, Recycling, Landfill, Naval Superfund Site, etc.).  Initial course offerings included both Credit and Noncredit Programs:

  • Computer Studies
  • Certificate Programs
  • Vocational Nursing
  • General Education
  • Adult Basic Education
  • ESL
  • Fashion Design
  • Computerized Machine
  • Word Processing
  • Clerical/Secretarial

City College of San Francisco is the anchor tenant in the facility, leasing approximately 55% of the building, and with a history of enrolling approximately 1,200 students. The Southeast Center is available to serve the entire community, with a particular emphasis on serving the Bayview Hunter’s Point, Potrero Hill, and Visitacion Valley communities. The Southeast Center is well-positioned to respond to academic, workforce, career, and technical education needs expressed by residents in the adjacent Bayview community and the city at large.
