** For all other technology purchases or if you have technology needs that do not match our current standard equipment, please submit a request for consultation via an email to the help desk.* Please note a state mandated fee of $16 may be added to all computer orders for E-Waste.
2. Have your department chair or dean request a quote
For quotes, department chairs or deans should submit a help desk request to helpdesk@ccsf.edu, indicating the quantity of each computer type you want to purchase or asking for a consultation, if needed. Please note:
- One assigned computer per employee
- Mac computers are not currently compatible with Banner
- Mac computers will not be provisioned to dual boot
- ITS will provide (and refresh) eligible computers
3. ITS will deliver and set up the computer
All computers must go through ITS to be imaged and placed on the network. ITS installs a standard suite of software that includes:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook (PC only)
- Adobe Acrobat
ITS also provides additional software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Banner Document Imaging, SarsGrid, and many others, via Self Service Software. For all other software, please contact ITS.
Note, ITS only installs CCSF purchased software on CCSF owned computers. ITS only buys enterprise software. All other software must be purchased by the department. .
4. Sign the Receiving Copy
Once your computer is installed, don’t forget to immediately sign MRR copy of the purchase order and return to the purchasing office so the vendor may be paid promptly.
5. Next, order security devices if not included with your computer.
We recommend “Super-Lok 3000” from D & D Security www.ddsecurity.com . Locks may be keyed-alike for lab installations, for a slight additional charge. We recommend Anchor Pad lock kits for security.
Removing Your Old Equipment
Do not ask a vendor to haul away your old, broken equipment. Clean off the hard drive, removing any sensitive data and complete a Surplus Disposal form for board approval to donate or dispose of old computers and monitors. Contact Carlita Martinez with the CCSF recycling program for eWaste collection sites on campus.
