Introduction to Statistics

This course is an introduction to statistical thinking and processes, including methods and concepts for discovery and decision-making using data. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-squared, and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis, including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. Students apply methods and processes to applications using data from a broad range of disciplines.

Span for Heritage Speakers 1A

Designed for bilingual/heritage students who are effective in oral communication in Spanish within their communities, but have little formal training in written forms of the language. Intensive review of grammar, composition and translation. Emphasis on sufficient control of language (vocabulary, structures, conventions of spoken and written language) to comprehend fully and with ease a variety of texts pertaining to real-world topics of general interest and work-related.

Intermediate Spanish

First course in the intermediate sequence. Intensive review of grammar, composition, and culture at the intermediate level. Designed for students who need reinforcement and expansion of the structures of the Spanish language. Introduction to authentic texts and Hispanic films to study new cultural perspectives.
