Emphasis will be placed on a representative sample of advanced level postures and yoga combinations, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. A continuation of Hatha yoga history, philosophy, and current trends will be presented.

Emphasis will be placed on a representative sample of intermediate level postures and yoga combinations, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. A continuation of Hatha yoga philosophy will be presented as well as current trends.

This course is an introduction to psychology, which is the study of the mind and behavior. Students focus on theories and concepts of biological, cognitive, developmental, environmental, social, and cultural influences; their applications; and their research foundations.

Critical exploration of psychological research as it applies to understanding the causes, physiology, consequences, and management of stress. Emphasis is on applied stress management.

This course examines the biological basis of behavior and mental processes. Psychopharmacology, cognitive neuroscience, research processes, and ethics will also be addressed.

Continuation of oral training in Mandarin. Emphasis on practical vocabulary, pronunciation, and idiomatic usage. Designed for students who wish to acquire basic skills of spoken Mandarin, rather than formal grammar and literature, while also learning more about Chinese culture and history.

Introduction to architectural concepts and principles through 2-D and 3-D design projects. Focus is on issues, requirements, and objectives related to visual perception of form and space, architectural meaning, spatial experiences, as these relate to the human condition.

A course designed for students to develop reading and critical thinking skills. Credits earned may be applied toward meeting the CCSF High School Diploma requirements in Area C: Humanities or English.

Advanced writing course with emphasis on essay writing

Principles of visually communicating engineering designs. Topics include technical sketching, technical drawing, engineering graphics and design; 3-D visualization with orthographic projection; dimensioning and tolerancing practices; computer aided drafting/design (CAD) software; graphical analytical methods of solutions to three-dimensional problems. Assignments develop sketching and 2-D and 3-D CAD skills. The use of CAD software is an integral part of this course.
