Designed for bilingual/heritage students who are effective in oral communication in Spanish within their communities but have little formal training in written forms of the language. Intensive review of grammar, composition, and translation. Emphasis on control of high-frequency structures to produce a broad range of vocabulary related to topics of personal, public, and community interest, with competency on authentic cultural practices and perspectives.

Intensive review of grammar, composition and translation. Emphasis on sufficient control of language (vocabulary, structures, conventions of spoken and written language) to understand fully and with ease a variety of more complex texts that have a clear, organized structure.

Intermediate Spanish

First course in the intermediate sequence. Intensive review of grammar, composition, and culture at the intermediate level. Designed for students who need reinforcement and expansion of the structures of the Spanish language. Introduction to authentic texts and Hispanic films to study new cultural perspectives.
