April 19, 2021

Dear College Community,

Hope each of you had a wonderful spring weekend and are ready for lots of great news and updates!

On April 15, 2021 the San Francisco Garden Club bestowed lifetime Honorary Membership to Environmental Horticulture and Floristry faculty Steven Brown and Malcolm Hillan.

William Morgan, full-time faculty and department chairperson of the Diagnostic Medical Imaging program, was notified this week that he had been chosen for Honors in his graduate program at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls TX.

The self-study for the Diagnostic Medical Imaging program has been accepted in its entirety by Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT), their accrediting body. No deficiencies were found. Congratulations to all!

The Workforce Office partnered with the Architecture Department to host the Building Industry Mixer on April 14. The event included two panel discussions and a networking portion. Over 150 students attended these events to practice their networking skills and explore careers with leading employers. Visit the Building Industry site to connect with the participating companies.

On April 9th the College submitted its expenditure and enrollment report to the Accrediting Commission and to the State Chancellor’s Office for the quarter ending March 31, 2021. All reports, including other HEERF Institutional Portion expenditures, can be found on our CCSF website.

Students can now access a course-specific resource guide directly within their Canvas course. For example, a student in a psychology class will be served the Psychology Resource Guide that includes resources curated by the liaison librarian for that discipline. Reach out to a discipline specific liaison librarian if you have any questions or want additional information.

Finally, the San Francisco Adult Education Consortium will be holding its annual business meeting on April 20, 2021 at 3:30 pm. To attend connect to the new website. Many thanks to classified staff Arlette Marcial-Santana for her work on revitalizing the Consortium’s website!

I wish each of you a very productive and joyful week.

Yours sincerely,

Rajen Vurdien, Ph.D.
Interim Chancellor
