The Board of Trustees and Chancellor of City College of San Francisco are proud to welcome the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Leadership Congress to San Francisco this week.

Hundreds of elected and appointed trustees representing some of the nation’s community, technical, and junior colleges will gather to discuss innovations in education and workforce development as well as ongoing advocacy efforts with federal, state, and local government.

“Community colleges around the country are a crucial ladder to employment and opportunity,” said Chancellor Mark Rocha. “City College enrolls and educates more students than any other San Francisco college or university, and the more than 1,200 community colleges in the United States enroll nearly half of all undergraduates nationwide. We’re excited to learn and share with our colleagues in San Francisco this week.”

“Our fellow community college leaders have a common mission, and we face similar challenges,” said Board of Trustees President Alex Randolph. “Many of our students are the first in their families to attend college. Working together, we can help our students achieve their dreams by helping them to graduate on time.”

The four-day ACCT Leadership Congress will include detailed presentations on key issues for colleges, including institutional aid, Pell Grants, and relationships with government and community Page 2 of 2 leaders. Board President Randolph and Chancellor Rocha will deliver welcoming remarks, and present information about the groundbreaking Free City program and affordable housing for students.
