Instructor Bio

My name is Maggie Ching. I am one of the three instructors for the PHTC 101 and 103 class. I started teaching the Pharmacy Technician Certificate program in 2016 as a part-time faculty at the City College of San Francisco under the Health Care Technology department. For the past 3 years, I have been teaching PHTC 101 and 103 remotely. I am extremely excited to start teaching online this semester and looking forward to working with you.

A little bit of background about myself, I am a pharmacist and currently working for the San Francisco Veteran Affairs Medical Center as the inpatient pharmacy manager, my full-time position. I immigrated to the U.S. with my family when I was 15 from China. Went to George Washington High school, UC Berkeley for undergraduate study, and UC San Diego for pharmacy school. I did one year pharmacy residency training at a local hospital in San Francisco. Time flies by so quickly. I have been practicing as a clinical pharmacist for 12 years.

The education I received from the City College of San Francisco when I was taking prerequisite classes for pharmacy school, triggers me to have the desire to contribute back to our community. It is an honor to be part of the CCSF education community.

With my background and experience, I hope to work with you and help you succeed in the class. No matter what your ultimate goal is, I am committed to guide you to the right path while you are exploring future career endeavors.
