Catalog Description
Language and cultural barriers can impede the health of individuals and can be costly for health systems. This course provides language access strategies and effective collaboration with interpreters across language and cultural barriers in healthcare settings.

This class requires one live online meeting and the use of Canvas with no required in-person meetings. Students who miss the first live synchronous Zoom session will be dropped from the course.The live online meeting requires the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of CityOnline and is 4 weeks.
