Catalog Description
The second semester of a one-year course in organic chemistry for students who are majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, and other chemistry-intensive sciences. A fundamental study of organic chemistry including nomenclature, physical properties, reactions, mechanisms, multistep synthesis, theoretical aspects, and structure determination of major classes of organic compounds. The combination of CHEM 212A/212B also satisfies the organic chemistry requirements of medical schools.
Section Notes
This section will be a conventional, in-person course at the Ocean Campus and attendance will be required at all meetings. Students will also need to participate via Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet-enabled device.
