Catalog Description
Prepares students for Community Health Worker (CHW) positions in the health and social service fields. The course emphasizes skill development in areas such as cultural humility and client-centered assessment, health education and counseling.

This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on Saturdays: 1/31, 2/28, 3/21, 4/18, 5/16 from 9:10-2pm at Ocean Campus. Live online meetings take place on select Mondays: 1/26, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/9, 3/16, 4/6, 4/13, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11 from 6:10-8pm and weekly on Wednesdays from 6:10-8pm require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device.
