Catalog Description
This course provides students with instruction in the specialties of dentistry, including advanced endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, removable prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, as well as the armamentariums required for each. Studies include the development of preclinical skills in the expanded functions required of the Registered Dental Assistant, and students are required to meet standards of competency for all required tasks including coronal polishing and ultrasonic removal of cement from ortho bands.

This course is a tech-enhanced course and requires the use of Canvas. Some coursework is completed on Canvas using an internet-enabled device. This course is part of the Dental Assisting Program and cannot be taken as a separate course. You must apply to the program first.

PREREQ: DENT 52 and DENT 53 and DENT 62; DENT 55B COREQ: DENT 54 and DENT 70A and DENT 110A
