Catalog Description
This course introduces students to the field of alcohol and drug counseling and provides an overview of the requirements for the Addiction and Recovery Counseling Certificate. Students will identify necessary skills and potential challenges to succeeding in the field.

This class requires in-person, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meeting information (meeting days, times, location) is in the class schedule. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. Live online meetings require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. Coursework on Canvas may start prior to the first in-person and/or Zoom meeting, please check Canvas for more details. This class is part of CityOnline and is 4 weeks.
