Catalog Description
Prepares students for Community Health Worker (CHW) positions in the health and social service fields. The course emphasizes skill development in areas such as cultural humility and client-centered assessment, health education and counseling.

This section is part of the Homeless Prenatal Program's Apprenticeship Program. This class requires in-person, live online meetings, and the use of Canvas. In-person meeting information (meeting days, times, location) is in the class schedule. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. Live online meetings require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. Coursework on Canvas may start prior to the first in-person and/or Zoom meeting, please check Canvas for more details. This class is part of CityOnline and is 16 weeks.
