Overview

The Mission Center facility combines renovation of the existing four-story SFUSD Downtown High School building on Bartlett Street with construction of a new four-story building fronting on Valencia Street. Connector bridges join the new and existing buildings and an interior courtyard between the two is a main interior focal point for the Campus.

The new facility is of the highest design quality, integrating the most current technologies to successfully meet current and future curriculum requirements. The new facility respects the scale and commercial fabric of the vibrant surrounding neighborhood, and reflects the urban richness of the culture and arts in the Mission District. It enhances the existing cultural values of the community, and provides link to the community through shared facilities that include meeting and Multi-Purpose Rooms, as well as childcare in the form of a child development educational program.

The Valencia Street main entry features what is said to be the largest Tonalmachiotl in the world. Read more.
