This introductory course will develop the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Italian. This course also introduces cultural aspects of Italy and its people. The first half of the elementary course.
Continuation of the beginning course in grammar, composition, and reading. Practice speaking and understanding German at the novice-high level while exploring German culture.
This course is for students with no prior knowledge or minimal skills in American Sign Language (ASL). The course is designed primarily to develop students' receptive and expressive skills in ASL in functional settings. Students will be introduced to general historical factors that have contributed to American Deaf culture and the development of American Sign Language.
Second semester course with emphasis on vocabulary and grammar appropriate to the low-intermediate level. Continued practice in speaking and understanding Spanish. Continued practice in writing and reading Spanish. Further introduction to Hispanic cultures.

Beginner's course emphasizing oral practice of basic structures and vocabulary most often used in conversation. Designed for students who wish to acquire basic skills of spoken Spanish.
Readings in and discussions of Hispanic Civilization from the High Paleolithic to the l7th Century: Spain and Latin America. Designed to improve command of the spoken language through building vocabulary, improving pronunciation and expressing ideas in a more natural manner with some written Spanish practice as well. Conducted in Spanish.
Designed for bilingual/heritage students who are effective in oral communication in Spanish within their communities, but have little formal training in written forms of the language. Intensive review of grammar, composition and translation. Emphasis on sufficient control of language (vocabulary, structures, conventions of spoken and written language) to understand fully and with ease a variety of more complex texts that have a clear, organized structure.
