Catalog Description
A critical examination of the United States food system and policies through a health equity framework, exploring topics including climate change, farming practices, food justice, food apartheid, food security, food safety, food worker safety, the impact of corporations on the food system, food sovereignty movements, and exploring alternatives and solutions to our food system challenges.
Section Notes
This class requires one mandatory live online meeting and the use of Canvas with no required in-person meetings. The live online meeting takes place on 1/27 from 5:40pm-6:30pm and requires the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of CityOnline and is 16 weeks.
