Catalog Description
Introduces the appropriate use of assessment and observation tools and strategies to document young children?s development and learning. The use of findings to inform and plan learning environments and experiences are emphasized. Recording strategies, rating systems, portfolios, and multiple assessment tools will be discussed, along with strategies for collaboration with families and professionals.

This class requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meeting information (meeting days, times, location) is in the class schedule . Required in person classes are every other Wednesday on 1/28, 2/11, 2/25, 3/11, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6 & 5/20 from 12-3 PM. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of CityOnline and is 16 weeks. Requisites

Recommended Preparation, ESL 186 or placement in ESL 188 or readiness for college-level English
