Catalog Description
Development of intermediate-level English language conversation skills and strategies for appropriate interactions in a variety of social situations in the U.S. including workplace settings. Analysis of cultural differences that may affect verbal and non-verbal communication in social interactions in everyday life and work settings.

This course is part of the two-semester ESL Vocational Office Training Program (VOTP). Application to the program begins in mid-November or mid-April. Fully Online Class (on Canvas & Zoom): This 9-week class, 3/16/26-5/20/26, is part of CityOnline, which requires the use of Canvas and Zoom. Students complete coursework and communicate with their teacher and classmates online through Canvas. Live online class meetings via Zoom are scheduled as stated in the class schedule, using an internet-enabled device such as a computer or smartphone. Internet access is required.
