Catalog Description
              An introduction to photography aesthetic and technical skills, including manual functions of digital cameras, image creation and capture, file management and workflow, image adjustment and digital printing. The course will also introduce students to important historical and contemporary practitioners. Group critiques and practical labs using the camera and Adobe Software will help develop ideas and technical skills. This course is a major and certificate requirement.

              This class requires in-person and live online meetings. In-person meeting information (meeting days, times, location) is in the class schedule. Live online meetings require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device. This class is part of CityOnline is 17.5 weeks. For student support and other services, students can check the instructor's website.   Some days, classes will meet in a Visual Arts computer lab to access Adobe Lightroom Classic. This course requires use of a DSLR camera and Adobe Lightroom Classic. Students will have access to software, cameras, and inkjet printers and the photography department V165 MAC computer lab.  or may purchase the software at  College Buys .   This class is part of the Photography Certificate and AS Degree program. Satisfies CCSF GE Area E. Transfers to UC/CSU/CCA
