Catalog Description
A digital photography course advancing the technical and creative concepts introduced in Beginning Photography. Topics include: camera configurations and choice, exposure control, workflow management, nondestructive editing and archiving, large format printing and presentation. Discussions on contemporary uses of photography, including social histories and representation, visual literacy and contemporary photography, as well as in class review of student work are integral. Some field trips included.
Section Notes
This class requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. Class will meet in person on Wednesdays in the Photography Computer Lab VART 165. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using a computer and capable of running Adobe Lightroom Classic or accessed in the photography department computer lab. Some DSLR cameras, lenses, and iMac computer lab access with software are available for student use. This class is part of CityOnline and is 16 weeks.
