Meet Our Ambassadors
Hometown: Wenatchee, WA
CCSF Hobbies and activities:
Working, going to class, talking to friends, events, helping people, eating, and studying!!!
Why did you attend CCSF?
I attended City College because I wanted to change my life and do something that no one else in my family has done, which is to get a degree to in order to get a career to be able to take care of my family.
What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class this semester would have to be my lab for Anatomy 25.
Highlights of your CCSF Experience:
My CCSF experience has been great. I have met a lot of friends and I have a good job that I really like. I remember being really unfamiliar with City College and not sure if I was going to make it through the semester. On my first semester at City, I had wonderful teachers that taught me a lot so that I can make the best out of my City College experience. Now I am able to help other people that need help just like I did when I first started.
Plans for the future:
My goal is to finish school and get a good job at a hospital. I also plan to raise my son and to eventually buy my own home. It is important for me to teach and encourage him to go to college and get a career and I aspire to give back to the community because my community has helped me out to get to where I want to go.
I like being an Ambassador because:
I get to help people and everyday I learn new things about City College to help others or myself. I love to be around people and teach them the ins and outs of the college. I feel satisfied knowing that I can help someone who has questions. I love my bosses and the people I work with; they are cool and they are very understanding no matter what the circumstances. They are my second family. I also like to go to high schools and encourage students to attend college and share my experiences to inspire them. Even if I only inspired one student in a classroom, I feel like I have done my job.
I recommend CCSF to future students because:
It is a stepping-stone, it helps you figure out where you want to go in life, want you want to be, network with people and make your own decisions. It has a lot of student resources and it makes you feel like you are independent.
