Highlights from Spring 2014 and earlier:
Our cyclical process of assessment guides us to make changes to
better meet the needs of our faculty to improve teaching and learning
with educational technology.
What we found: In Spring 2011, due to changes in the organization of our ITS Department, the Distance Learning section of Ed Tech lost several staff members. Informal assessments lead us to understand that meeting the immediate needs of the online and techenhanced teachers was a Dept. priority and took precedence over other technology training.
What we did: The TLC refocused training efforts on Insight (powered by Moodle) and Google Apps.
What we found: From our informal assessments, we learned that faculty no longer were happy using Contribute to create instructional websites.
What we did: We phased out that project in favor of using Google sites (an institutional initiative).
What we found: From our evaluations, we learned that "tech-enhanced" faculty wanted online training on Insight.
What we did: We created an online class for this purpose and coordinated with HR to award staff development (FLEX) credit for successful completion of the online course.
This program is on a regular cycle of review, during which outcomes are updated and revised. See area details below, with timeline for advancing to next stage of assessment.
