Brazil and Cuba in the Bay Area

Not being offered during Summer 2013

In summers past we offered something a bit different: the chance to learn about Brazilian and Cuban cultures without leaving home!

Dr. Greg Landau of the Latin American and Latino/a Studies Department has taught ANTH 11: Latin American Cultures and Societies - Brazilian and Cuban Culture in the Bay Area.

The class meetings took place at CCSF's new Mission Campus, located at 1125 Valencia Street (cross street is 22nd Street) in Room 278. Joining Dr. Landau will be guest lecturers and demonstrations by members of the Brazilian Cultural Association, Ile Aye, Cuban musicians, and experts on Afro-Cuban religions. The class included a number of experiential activities focused on music, dance, art and cuisine.
