Paramedic Program Application Process

Paramedic Program Prerequisites

To be eligible for the Paramedic Program, potential candidates must have the following:

  1. Current California EMT certification
  2. Current California Driver's license
  3. Current CPR card
  4. 3-6 months of EMT experience (prehospital preferred)
  5. Attendance at one of the mandatory information meetings 
  6. Passing score on the entrance examination held in April.
  7. Completion of EMT 104
  8. Completion of BIOL 106 (or equivalent college level Anatomy & Physiology course with lab).

How to Apply

Interested candidates must first attend one of the mandatory information meetings. The date of the entrance exam will be determined. Candidates will be mailed a letter with the test date/time. Only candidates who meet the passing cut score will be allowed to proceed to the next step in application process and submit a completed application. Note: we do not accept any application materials from candidates who have not first passed the entrance exam and received the official letter from the CCSF Paramedic Program.

The application will include the following:

  • Completed CCSF Program application
  • Copies of CA EMT certification, CDL and CPR cards
  • Work verification
  • 2 letters of recommendation
