Steps to Enroll in CCSF Mandarin or Spanish Courses

Come to the APPLICATION WORKSHOP on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Rosenberg Library, room 403. 5-7 p.m. RSVP: by April 9th at http://bit.ly/2G7sUci

For students who did not attend the Application Workshop, please follow all the steps and instructions in the enrollment packet: OPEN HERE

Complete the CCSF On-Line Placement Test (all students) and Survey (Mandarin students only) and email the results to digarcia@ccsf.edu.

By April 20: Follow the CCSF Application Instructions to apply to the college. You will receive a CCSF student ID and email within 24-48 hours after applying via email.

By April 30: SUBMIT ALL paperwork including CCSF Consent Form and FERPA Release Form

to Carla Trigueros. Documents may be turned in either by fax at  415-550-4400 or emailed to academy@ccsd.edu.

Be sure to include either your application confirmation number or CCSF ID on the Consent Form.

June-August 2018: REGISTER for your course using the CCSF Student Online Portal Web4: June 2018 - August 2018. Check your email for further instructions.

·         SFUSD students will attend an orientation and registration session.

·         Non-SFUSD students will register on their own using the instructions provided by email.

Placement

It is important to be placed in the correct course. There are two parts to the process:

1.     Mandarin and Spanish Students: On-Line Placement Test

2.     Mandarin Students Only: Survey

 

Placement Test

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE TAKING TEST:

1. GO to the internet site of the placement test. It should take about 30-45 minutes.

2. Start at the CCSF Foreign Language Dept. website: http://www.ccsf.edu/forlang

3. Choose “Placement and Prerequisites” (left hand navigation column)

4. Scroll down to “How to Challenge a Prerequisite.” choose “Chinese” or “Spanish”

5. Choose “Take Placement Test.”

6. Under #2, click on the link to go straight to the WebCAPE Placement test portal (will open in a new window).

7. Enter the Password: california1

8. Choose "Chinese" or “Spanish” from the drop down menu.

9. Enter your information – Enter the special high school code (since you do not have a CCSF ID): 12345

10. Click Submit Information.

11. Follow the directions to take the test.

12. SAVE YOUR RESULTS FOR YOUR RECORDS AS A PDF. Name it: yournameresults.pdf

13. Email your results page to Diana Garcia-Denson, Department Chair, at digarcia@ccsf.edu
