Real Estate Program

Real Estate Advisory Board


The Real Estate program offers classes taught by working professionals highly experienced in their areas of real estate specialization. Students can earn an Associate in Science degree in Real Estate, a credit Caliifornia Real Estate Certificate of Achievement, or take courses required for the real estate licensing examination or continuing education requirements.

Associate in Science Degree in Real Estate

Students who satisfactorily complete the two-year course of study including additional graduation requirements, receive an Associate in Science degree in Real Estate.  Please see curriculum for degree information and requirements. For specific course information please see the catalog.

California Real Estate Certificate of Achievement

City College offers a credit California Real Estate Certificate of Achievement. The program is designed to give students a solid foundation in the theory and practice of real estate. The curriculum is sponsored by the California State Department of Real Estate, the California Association of Realtors, and the San Francisco Board of Realtors. The certificate is currently awarded by 90 community colleges in California. City College participates in this statewide program and awards the certificate to any student who completes a prescribed program of 24-semester units. The certificate can be completed in one year. Real Estate Courses

Classes are offered in the day and evening and are located at the Ocean CampusDowntown Campus and Fillmore Campus. Classes can be taken alone or as part of the degree or certificate program, and are tranferable to four year institutions. For specific course information please see the catalog. How to Enroll

When you have completed all the required classes, fill out a petition for graduation or a petition for a certificate. The petition form is available in Admissions and Records, Conlan Hall, Room 107, and should be submitted at the beginning of the semester that you complete all the requirements. Petitions must submitted by the deadline posted in the Calendar of Instruction.


Applying for a Degree or Certificate

It’s easy to start the program. Apply to the college, then register for one or more classes. See the steps to becoming a credit student. You may also contact the Office of Admissions at (415) 239-3285. Please refer to tuition information for specifics on City College tuition costs. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.
