General Business Program
The General Business degree and certificate programs are designed to provide students with a broad basis and foundational background in business without the depth in a particular business discipline. These programs focus on the theoretical and practical skills necessary for students to work in a variety of entry level positions in business, government and non profits. Typical entry level jobs with an Associates Degree in General Business include: Accounting/Bookkeeping, Human Resources, Customer Service, Sales, Receptionist, or Administrative Assistant.
Associate in Science Degree in General Business
The General Business concentration allows students to earn the Associate Degree in two years, while partially preparing them for transfer into the Business Administration major at a four year college or university. In addition, the program prepares the student for an entry level position in a variety of business office settings. General Business Certificate of Accomplishment
The credit General Business Certificate of Accomplishment is an
excellent introduction for students who want to learn more about the
overall field of business, and is designed to provide students with a
foundational background in business. Courses focus on the theoretical
and practical skills necessary for students to work in a variety of
entry level positions in both the private and public sectors. For

How to Enroll
It’s easy to start the program. Apply to the college, then register for one or more classes. See the steps to becoming a credit student. You may also contact the Office of Admissions at (415) 239-3285. Please refer to tuition information for specifics on City College tuition costs. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. You may also call the Financial Aid Office at (415) 239-3577.

Applying for a Degree or Certificate
When you have completed all the required classes, fill out a petition for graduation for a degree or a petition for a certificate. The petition form is available in Admissions and Records, Conlan Hall, Room 107, and should be submitted at the beginning of the semester that you complete all the requirements. Petitions must submitted by the deadline posted in the Calendar of Instruction.
