Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Business Employment Program is to strengthen and develop relationships with San Francisco area employers to increase job opportunities for students. The program works to develop and locate positions targeted to Business training programs, and make these positions available for business students to independently access through a website.

 

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with San Francisco area employers to result in job opportunities for Business students.
  • Students will be able to survey local job openings to increase their knowledge of the skill requirements needed for hire into business related jobs.
  • Students will be able to independently access and apply for jobs that correspond to department training programs.

Timeline of Assessment (Year-Round)

Early November:

Document and tally the number of employer contacts made during the month of October (the number employers receiving resumes and E-report combined)

Late November:

Document and tally the number of employer contacts made during the month of November (the number employers receiving resumes and E-report combined)

Early December:

Program meeting with program coordinators, instructors, and program staff is held to assess the results of program. Plans to revise PSLOs or any aspects of the program are discussed. Plan for the implementation of changes and for the upcoming Spring semester is devised.

Mid-December:

The assessment report is written for online submission. The online form for the submission of the Fall semester assessment & Spring semester plan is ready on the CCSF SLO website. Fall assessment & Spring plans are submitted pending program coordinator approval.

January 31:

Online submission of the Fall SLOs assessment & Spring semester plans due.

Early April:

Document and tally the number of employer contacts made during the month of March (the number employers receiving resumes and E-report combined). Student Employment Surveys conducted through classroom visitations.

Late April:

Document and tally the number of employer contacts made during the month of April (the number employers receiving resumes and E-report combined). Program meeting with program coordinators, instructors, and program staff is held to assess the results of program and student survey. Plans to revise PSLOs or any aspects of the program are discussed. Plan for the implementation of changes and for the upcoming Fall semester is devised.

Early June:

The assessment report is written for online submission. The online form for the submission of the Spring semester assessment & Fall semester plan is ready on the CCSF SLO website. Spring assessment & Fall plans are submitted pending program coordinator approval.

August 31:

Online submission of the Spring SLOs assessment & Fall semester plans due.

The number of San Francisco area employers contacted will be tracked in October 2013 & November 2013 and assessed early-December 2013

The number of job openings made available to Business students on the website as a result of these contacts will be tracked and assessed in December 2013.
