What will I learn in this program?

The goal of the Database Programming Certificate is to give students career technical skills in database operation, computer programming, and database design.  The certificate is divided into three options based on related technologies:

  • The Oracle option works with Oracle databases
  • The MySQL/Open Source Technologies option works with the open source database MySQL, and open source programming languages
  • The Microsoft option uses SQL Server and Visual Basic, two Microsoft technologies

Does this program have any special enrollment requirements?

It is expected that students have at least one semester of programming experiences before attempting this certificate, such as CS 110A, 111A, or 112A.
