Experimenting With Color: Developing a Personal Palette
Instructor Glen Moriwaki
This workshop focuses on the developing painter who has learned the essentials of color theory and color-mixing and who seeks to further explore the expressive possibilities of color in oil or acrylic painting.
By experimenting with bold color combinations and edgy juxtapositions and dissonances on the one hand and with subtle, close-hued combinations, broad color-field monochromes, and delicate transparencies on the other, the results can be powerful visually and emotionally.
Individual discoveries made through these kinds of experiences with color benefit a painter (who has already found a personal direction in art), while for another, they may provide a direction and focus for further exploration. Color can be the subject itself.
Note: This workshop is recommended for students with some previous experience in painting.
