Instructor Anna-Lisa Stardust van der Valk

Learn the basics of the portrait drawing process working from a live model, with a mix of large plaster casts, images, lecture, demos, and hands-on instruction. This intensive workshop is suitable for those new to portraiture as well as experienced portraitists. Have fun experimenting with various drawing media to practice the basics of portraiture: the human skull and bone structure, facial planes, muscles, skin, hair, facial features, expression, mood, anatomy, shadows and lights, contours, lines, masses, composition, and perspective. The model will take a variety of short and long poses. There will be a model fee of between $20-30 depending on workshop size as well as an optional $5-10 materials fee for supplies provided by the instructor.
